Scottsdale, Arizona is home to some of the most luxurious, delightful golf communities in the state. These communities offer proximity to world-class golfing, but they also give residents some of the most stunning vistas imaginable, all wrapped up in Scottsdale’s amazing climate. Of all the neighborhoods on offer throughout the area, Troon North, Desert Mountain and Mirabel are three of the names that you should become most familiar with. Here’s a closer look at these neighborhoods and what they offer you.

Troon North

Located in northern Scottsdale, Troon North occupies 1,800 acres and features 13 different communities. Multi-acre properties, custom estates and production homes are available throughout. The two courses themselves are open to the public (not exclusive). One course was designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Moorish (The Monument), while the second course was designed by Tom Weiskopf alone (Pinnacle).

Desert Mountain

Desert Mountain offers 8,000 acres and it’s all luxurious. The neighborhood is secured with a gate and a live gate guard, and is located north of Scottsdale, close to Carefree. The Tonto National Forest is also nearby. Homes within Desert Mountain span a massive range of styles, sizes and price ranges, from multimillion-dollar estates to smaller homes. Six golf courses serve Desert Mountain residents, and there are quite a few different neighborhoods on offer. All six courses were designed by Jack Nicklaus, and each features its own clubhouse. Other perks for residents include tennis courts, a fitness center and hiking and biking trails, as well as several parks to enjoy.

Mirabel

The smallest of the three neighborhoods mentioned here, Mirabel spans just over 700 acres. It’s a private community, and you’ll find it nestled in northern Scottsdale. The neighborhood has an elevation of 3,000 feet, making it one of the higher ones in the area, and it offers some truly stunning views down over the valley and the desert. The neighborhood features an 18-hole course designed by Tom Fazio (the course and the club are private, reserved for neighborhood residents and their guests only). Only 350 people are allowed to be members at once. Residents also benefit from the spa and the pool within the neighborhood. Homes here are more exclusive and start at a higher price than in the two neighborhoods mentioned previously ($900,000).

Troon North, Mirabel and Desert Mountain are excellent examples of the different golf neighborhood and course types you’ll find throughout the Scottsdale area. Some are private, reserved for residents and members only. Others are publicly accessible, but no less enjoyable or challenging for all of that.
